Beatrice Gomez is a trauma nurse in El Paso, accustomed to treating the aftermath of violence without ever seeing its source. When the harm reaches into her own family, Beatrice is forced to confront what the hospital, the law, and good intentions cannot touch.

Her path crosses with The Circle, a clandestine network that understands how trafficking, corruption, and institutional protection intersect far beyond a single border city. What begins as exposure becomes initiation. Beatrice must choose whether to remain a witness, or step into work that requires secrecy, sacrifice, and irreversible choices.

Set between El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, Reckoning follows a woman shaped by border life, Catholic faith, and frontline medicine as she crosses a moral line she never expected to face. This first novel introduces The Circle and the cost of confronting systems that survive because they have learned how to hide in plain sight.
